Ohio~

hi everyone, finally I got internet connection after 4 days... huh!

Ya, I am in Wooster, Ohio now, just started my internship few days ago. The weather in Wooster is not as good as in New Brunswick. It has been raining for the past three days. The local said it usually rains a lot because the place was quite near to one of the biggest lake in the world -- Lake Erie of Lake Ontario. Ya, Ontario as in Ontario in Canada. So, it is very close to Canada.

I flew here early Monday and arrived at Cleveland International Airport, which is located near the US-Canada border (separated by the big lake though). The flight was short --> 45 minutes to Philly and ~1 hour to Cleveland. However, my baggage couldn't stand the short journey and was broken apart. Luckily, only the shell was injured and the linen in it was still intact, so, nothing sneaked out from the bag. Still, it's very sad because it was the second time I flew with it. The first and the only time I used it was when I flew from Malaysia 3 years ago. It was one of the 2 luggage I brought with me when I first came here ... :'( So sad.... But, nothing could be done about it. Really felt sorry to my little blue bag...... But, this thing happened. And, I'm just the unlucky one.

At the airport, two of the undergraduates, Clay and Chris who work in my lab picked me up. Both of them are born and raised in Wooster, and one of them was in the same SURE program as me. They are quite helpful and friendly. Before I checked into the dorm, they brought me to the Walmart to buy some grocery for a week. So, I'm really grateful for their hospitality. After checking in, we went to the lab. Since it is only an research extension of OSU, the whole place was very small, with only few classroom buildings and research facility. Till now, I still didn't have any chance to explore the campus. I'll definitely find time for it during the course of my internship.

I'm staying in the College of Wooster for 3 weeks before I can move into ATI Housing in OSU. Out of my expectation, the dorm was not at all close to the research facility. Luckily, Chris stays very near to the college. So, I get a ride from him everyday. I couldn't imagine how I'm going to work if he didn't work there. Huh....

Another thing I must mention is the architecture of the College of Wooster. Since it was established in 1866, most of the buildings was very classic and antique. It even had a big castle (I sneaked in the castle yesterday :P and found out that the classrooms in it have modern and nice equipments....kind of unexpected)! Every building there was well preserved and maintained. It is very much like universities that always appear in the movie. It has always been my dream to study in such beautiful campus. Since Rutgers does not have many historical buildings, I'm glad that I can stay here for a short period and partially fulfill my dream ... And also, there are McD, KFC, Domino's Pizza, and Arby's just 5-minute walk away! Yes, finally, I can eat McD and KFC! Haven't had KFC for years!

Ok lah. Will post pictures of the beautiful campus in the next post or in fb... :)

p/S: I was kind of sad today coz I just lost the room I planned on renting.. But, I guessed I will just do with my second choice...Hopefully, everything will work out fine. I guess it will since I just pay a big sum of deposit....
